The Official Apec Photo Post

No doubt a myriad of bloggers will exclaim in utter disgust at the official APEC photo. I’ll leave it to others to discuss just why the whole concept of an Australian “national costume” is absurd, and why even if we had to pick a national costume, it certainly wouldn’t be a Dryza-bone™, and what all this tells us about John Howard’s Australia.

No, instead I’ll just point out that when the APEC delegates were told to give a big APEC right hand wave, little Georgy boy forgot which hand was which.

Correction: Or maybe the photographer just said “How about a wave?”, and little Georgy just looks half arsed rather than outright stupid. Oh well.

Dryza-bones…presumably for the vast amount of rain we’re all getting here in the Australian capitals, right?

Whichever planet Howard is on, it’s clearly one where *his* lawn didn’t die off a long time ago, like mine did!

Well as much as I’d like the above to be true — turns out the photographer asked them to wave, not raise their right hand.

“How about a wave?”
