This Wednesday the 9th of August Mamdouh Habib addressed an audience of staff and students at the Australian National University’s Law Link Theatre.

one guy who was screaming, I asked him what happened. He told me I’m a businessman, I work in Pakistan, taking people from Pakistan to work in Saudi Arabia, for long.
But I was here having problems with my throat and the doctor take me and give me aesthetic, and he chopped off my legs. And he informed the American government, this guy he come from Afghanistan, he was in the war, and he was the right hand of Osama Bin Laden.
He chopped his legs off, and he sold him out. And that’s one, one small part of the story. This guy’s in Guantanamo bay, this guy is in Cuba. Until today. He hasn’t done anything.

People here today listen to me, and I not make you to listen to feel sorry for me, what happened to me has happened, I tell you to feel sorry for the other people, to feel sorry for yourself. Because you are the one who pay the price, if not you your son, if not your son, maybe your wife, maybe your daughter, you don’t know.
We are all same, don’t think because you’re name john, you’re not Muslim, you’re not Habib. No.
